Joyce Stevens

Joyce Stevens, MD

Dr. Joyce Stevens received her medical degree from Michigan State University, The College of Human Medicine, East Lansing, Michigan. She completed her residency in Family Practice at the Kalamazoo Center for Medical Studies affiliated with Michigan State University. Dr. Stevens practiced medicine in the Kalamazoo and Grand Rapids area for several years and most recently she practiced at Healthfirst Medical Center in Lake Orion, Michigan.

Dr. Stevens is Board Certified by the American Board of Family Practice and is a member of the American Academy of Family Practice. Dr. Stevens specializes in women’s health, and she also enjoys treating children of all ages.

Dr. Stevens has joined the Michigan Health Specialists Group since March 2007. She sees patients at the Flint Robert T. Longway office, Lapeer and Grand Blanc offices.

Katie Vanderlaan, PA-C

Katie is a graduate of Grand Valley State University with a masters in Physicians Assistants Studies.

Prior to being at Michigan Health, Katie worked in Radiation Oncology in Lansing as well as was an instructor for Grand Valley in Grand Rapids.

Katie enjoys seeing men, women, and children of all ages, with a special interest in pediatrics and women’s health.

Melissa Neely

Melissa Neely, PA-C

Melissa is a Physician Assistant who has worked with Michigan Health Specialists since 2010. Prior to starting with Michigan Health Specialists, Melissa attended Butler University where she graduated with a Bachelor of Health Sciences degree and a Masters Degree in Physician Assistant Studies. Melissa enjoys seeing patients of all ages, however has a particular interest in Pediatrics and Women’s Health.

Cherrel Shells

Cherrell Shells, DNP, NP-C, RN

Cherrell M. Shells is a doctorally prepared nurse practitioner who joined Michigan Health Specialists in 2010. Cherrell completed her undergraduate nursing education at Western Michigan University and later earned her graduate degree from Wayne State University. She received a Doctorate of Nursing Practice from the University of Michigan in 2017. She is a member of both the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners and the Michigan Council of Nurse Practitioners. She enjoys all aspects of primary care and has a special interest in adolescent medicine and women’s health. Cherrell takes great pride in establishing sincere relationships with her patients, promoting positive health behaviors, and helping to improve the overall health of her patients. Her enthusiasm, compassion, and expertise have been highly regarded by all who see her for their care. In her spare time, she enjoys reading, cooking, exercising, and traveling.

Pamela Dasher

Pamela Dasher, MD

Pamela Dasher M.D. is a Board Certified Family Physician and a Michigan native. She received her Medical degree from Wayne State University and completed her residency in family practice medicine at McLaren Regional Medical Center in Flint. She has been dedicated to treating patients in the Flint area for over 10 years. Her patients appreciate the attention she pays to their concerns as well as her thoroughness, kindness and respectfulness. As a family physician, Dr. Dasher provides the most current evidence based medicine to her patients from birth through their geriatric years. Minor surgeries, including gynecological procedures, are performed in her office. Dr. Dasher has recently joined Michigan Health Specialists. She sees patients in the Grand Blanc office and is currently accepting new patients.

Mohammed Baig, MD

Graduate of Dr. NTR University of Health Sciences (India) with a Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery. Trained in Internal Medicine at the Michigan State University – College of Human Medicine at Hurley Medical Center. During his Residency Dr. Baig was awarded as as the best resident of the quarter. In addition, he actively participated in research and several scholarly activities. Dr. Baig is dedicated to serving in Flint. He is a member of American College of Physicians and American Medical Association.

Maggie Noger

Maggie Noger, PA-C

Maggie graduated in 2013 from Hanover College with a Bachelor’s Degree in Biology. She attended the University of Kentucky Physician Assistant Program, graduating in 2016. She is a certified physician assistant through the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA). Maggie is a member of the Michigan Association of Physician Assistants and the American Association of Physician Assistants. Maggie is originally from Lexington, KY. She has a special interest in pediatrics, women’s health, diabetes management, and weight loss counseling. To stay healthy, Maggie recommends eating healthy, exercising regularly, drinking enough water, and doing at least one thing daily that makes you happy.

Shauna Cooks MSN, AGNP-C, graduated from Walden University in 2016. She is certified as an Adult-Gerontology Nurse Practitioner by the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners (AANP). Practiced at Flint Children’s Center in Flint and Northpointe Pediatrics in Warren. Dr. Damidi loves to see the smiling faces of her patients at their follow up appointments, and she believes in having healthy diet, keeping active, and being happy! She joined MHS in 2016.

Joe Galard, PA

Joe graduated from the University of Michigan – Flint with a Bachelors in Human Biology.  He completed his Master’s in Physician Assistant Studies at Lincoln Memorial University in Tennessee.  Joe was born in Michigan and worked in emergency medical services in Flint prior to becoming a PA. He joined Michigan Health Specialists in September 2016.

Jodi Ternan, FNP-C

Jodi Ternan is a Family Nurse Practitioner, board-certified by the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners and licensed in Michigan to provide family-centered healthcare to patients of all ages. Her scope of practice encompasses health promotion, disease prevention, diagnosis and management of common and complex health care problems beginning in childhood and continuing throughout the aging process. Jodi obtained her Master of Science in Nursing from South University. She joined MHS in 2017. Prior to joining MHS, she worked as a registered nurse at McLaren Flint in the emergency department and cardiac unit.   Jodi has a unique combination of strong nursing skills and strives to provide the best health care possible. She believes in building a long lasting and trusting relationship with patients. She seeks to acquire a comprehensive evaluation of every patient by taking time to listen and understand their particular needs. Her passion is to promote wellness and empower patients to take control of their health.

Rodney Norman, PA

Rodney joined MHS with a 15 year history of practicing as a physician assistant. Beginning his collegiate in Ann Arbor at the University of Michigan, he obtained a Bachelor of Science with a concentration in biopsychology. He then attended the University of Detroit Mercy for his graduate medical training to become a physician assistant. In 2002, he received his Masters of Science and a Masters as a physician assistant. Once certified by the NCCPA, he received his State of Michigan medical license and began professional practice. Mr. Norman has a background in primary care, urgent care, interventional radiology, and neurosurgery. His hospital affiliations have included Covenant Healthcare, and Saint Mary’s of Michigan in Saginaw. Currently, he has medical staff privileges at Mid Michigan Medical Center. In addition, his certifications and memberships include: AAPA Fellow, certification is U.S.-guided pain management, and certification as a DOT medical examiner. At this time Rodney looks forward to bringing his educational background and professional experience to the patients and staff of Michigan Health Specialists.

Matthew Evans, FNP-C

Matthew Evans is a Family Nurse Practitioner board certified through the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners. He is licensed in Michigan to provide primary care services across the lifespan with experience in Adult-Geriatric, Pediatric, and Women’s Health. Matthew graduated with his Master of Science from Frontier Nursing University. Before his entry into advance practice, Matthew had extensive experience with pain management working as an RN in both perioperative and pain management settings.

Wanda Lewis, FNP-C

Wanda is a Family Nurse Practitioner certified through the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners. She graduated from Oakland University with a Bachelor’s of Science in Nursing and completed her Master’s of Science in Nursing at Walden University with a concentration in family care. Wanda’s background in the medical field began in 1992 as a medical specialist in the U.S. Army. Since then she has worked as an Emergency Medical Technician, Certified Nursing Assistant, Certified Medical Assistant, and Registered Nurse in various settings including the emergency medical services, emergency center care, obstetrics/gynecology, medical/surgical, oncology, and infusion therapy. She is a member of the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners and the Michigan Council of Nurse Practitioners. Wanda strives to provide the best of care to every patient. She loves spending time with her husband and three children. She enjoys time with friends, being outdoors, exercising, and exploring new destinations.

Sheeba Mathews, FNP-BC

Sheeba Mathews is a Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP), board certified by the American Nurses Credentialing Center and currently licensed to practice in the State of Michigan. She earned her Master of Science in nursing with honors from University of Michigan-Flint. She believes in the importance of maintaining a healthy life style in disease prevention and looking forward to working closely with each individual to understand their health needs and goals and develop a personalized care plan to achieve their best possible state of health. She is an active member of Michigan Council of Nurse Practitioners; Sigma Theta Tau, the International Honor Society of Nursing; and was inducted into Pi Delta Chapter. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her family, gardening and weekend getaways to places of interests.
