Acupuncture and Dry Needling improve the body’s function and promote the natural self-healing process by stimulating specific anatomic sites–commonly referred to as acupuncture points, or acupoints.
Hundreds of clinical studies on the benefits of acupuncture and dry needling show that they successfully treat conditions ranging from musculoskeletal problems (back pain, neck pain, and others) to nausea, migraine headache, anxiety, depression, insomnia, and infertility.
At MHS, our licensed acupuncturist provides acupuncture and dry needling to help resolve pain, and awaken your inner balance.

Cupping is part of Oriental medicine, one that is used to relieve back and neck pains, stiff muscles, anxiety, fatigue, migraines, and rheumatism.
Cupping is the term applied to a technique that uses small glass cups or bamboo jars as suction devices that are placed on the skin. There are several ways that a practitioner can create the suction in the cups. Once the suction has occurred, the cups can be gently moved across the skin (often referred to as “gliding cupping). The suction in the cups causes the skin and superficial muscle layer to be lightly drawn into the cup.
Cupping is much like the inverse of massage – rather than applying pressure to muscles, it uses gentle pressure to pull them upward. For most patients, this is a particularly relaxing and relieving sensation. Once suctioned, the cups are generally left in place for about ten minutes while the patient relaxes.

Functional Rehabilitation differs from traditionally practiced physical therapy by shifting from treating the area of pain to treating the area of dysfunction. Instead of treating what hurts, we treat the cause of your pain!
At MHS, we perform functional movement tests to assess your body’s movement, and prescribe a functional rehabilitation program designed to address body limitations, decrease pain and improve function.

At MHS we use functional nutrition to assess and improve your health.
Functional Nutrition focuses on the affects food has on your body at the cellular level. Food is much more than calories, every bite of food that you eat affects your health!
Eating healthy is essential for both preventing illness and for recovering from disease.
Specific nutrients obtained from food help give you sustained energy, sleep better, and support your general well-being. However, food can be detrimental to your health if you make poor choices and continue to eat food that harms your body.
In a patient-centered functional nutrition approach to healing, our experienced healthcare professionals will assess your food choices, lifestyle, and environment to create an individualized nutrition plan that restores and maintains your optimal health.
